Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts is a concern of Abinta Kabir Foundation which was formerly known as Athena Gallery. The gallery serves as a cultural and educational center, with frequent exhibitions, seminars, workshops and other activities open to the public at large.

Athena Gallery was established in 2012 and was renamed in 2017 as Abinta Gallery of Fine Arts in remembrance of Abinta Kabir – the granddaughter of Ms. Nilu Murshed who is the CEO of the gallery. Abinta loved art and had an eye for good paintings. As a budding changemaker and humanitarian, she dreamt of bringing change to people’s lives through personal and social philanthropy. The objective and intention of the gallery are to showcase Bangladesh’s promising generation of young artists and creative minds.

It is our intention to make Abinta Gallery the leading venue showcasing Bangladesh’s promising generation of young artists and creative minds. The development of commercial market for Art scene as it exists today in the short supply of gallery and display spaces that open their doors to unestablished and unconventional artists. With over 4,000 sq ft of gallery space housing state-of-the-art tractable gallery walls, Abinta Gallery provides new artists the rare opportunity to display and discuss their works alongside a vast in-house collection of works by esteemed masters and visionaries. Moreover, art lovers and collectors will take pleasure in the unique opportunity to compare and contrast new styles and themes alongside certified and time-honored works of arts and paintings. Exposing connoisseurs and amateurs alike to fine arts spanning several generations and age brackets will in turn create a collective repertoire of opinion and discussion which will ultimately ensure the gallery’s forthcoming sales and acquisition of artworks to be both insightful and current.

The gallery will also serve as a cultural and educational center, with frequent exhibitions, seminars, workshops and other activities open to public at large. By liaising with other galleries at home and abroad, we can create an inclusive community promoting meaning exchanges to establish strong and useful links among artists and art lovers across the globe.

CEO of Abinta Gallery, Ms. Nilu Murshed is continuing a passionate lifelong ambition to promote and expose Bangladesh’s art and culture to the international art stage. An avid art lover and collector for over forty years, her dream is to give recognition to the young, emerging nameless talents who weather away in the streets and homes of one of the poorest countries of the world.

Athena Gallery was named after Abinta, granddaughter of the CEO of Abinta Gallery, Ms. Nilu Murshed.
